Cold Winter Nights

Here in unincorporated Woodinville, WA, living in a forest somewhere between suburbs and rural country, our forecast is for 17°F (-8.3°C), which is rather colder than we’re accustomed to.  My car made protests when I drove it yesterday, a rattling sound in the door, the rubber stuck to metal.  Hoar frost covered the base of the windshield.  If you’re weathering the cold, it’s always preferable to curl up with warm blankets, some tea or cocoa, and read for a while.

If you’re not sure what to read, or don’t have a lot of time, there’s free content on this site (both poems and stories), and access to dozens of short stories are still available through a Patreon account for $1 per month.
